Powering Wallplate (WP301) from P-AVN-3

This guide will walk you through the process enabling PoH or PoC power output on P-AVN-3 unit.

The P-AVN-3 unit is shipped with Power over HDBaseT (PoH) disabled by default. To enable PoH and supply power to a compatible connected device through the HDBaseT connection, follow the instructions below.

PoE, PoH, and PoC – Key Differences

• PoE (Power over Ethernet): Delivers electrical power and data over an Ethernet cable.

• PoH (Power over HDBaseT): Delivers power and data over an HDBaseT connection, allowing compatible devices to be powered directly through the HDBaseT cable.

• PoC (Power over Cable): A general term for transmitting power over a cable, typically using a proprietary implementation that depends on the equipment and connection type.

The P-AVN-3 unit is able to provide PoC or PoH power on the HDbaseT port. Wallplate (WP301) needs PoH to be working properly. If you are trying to connect a different device to P-AVN-3 in that way, please check in the technical specification what power type it uses.

USB-C Power Delivery

The wallplate can be powered directly by the P-AVN-3 unit. However, it is important to note that an external power supply must be connected to the wallplate if it is required to charge devices connected to its USB-C port. Without an external power supply, the wallplate can receive power from the P-AVN-3, but USB-C charging functionality will not be available.

How to enable power output

1. Open a web browser and login to P-AVN-3 WebUI. Default credentials are admin/proav101.

2. Click on the three dots in right upper corner and then on PSE.

3. Select the desired power output type (PoH for our wallplate - WP301). Click on the PSE switch to enable power.

4. Your wallplate should now be able to receive power from P-AVN-3.
