P-AVN-M-1RU Rackmount Accessory Quick Start Guide

The 1RU shelf accessory is designed to hold 3x P-AVN-4 units side by side in a standard 19” rack environment. The height of the chassis is under 1RU and can optionally sit freely on the shelf without attachment screws if desired. The recommended installation method for the 1RU accessory is to securely attach the transceiver to the shelf using the included hardware screws. Attaching the P-AVN-4 with hardware screws prevents the units from moving or falling off the shelf during wiring activity or environment vibration. There will be a slight gap between the transceivers on each side so the chassis do not rub together or transfer heat between them. The rear edge of the 1RU shelf accessory has a hole behind each unit to allow cable/zip-ties to secure attached wiring.

INSTALLATION STEPS FOR THE 1RU ACCESSORY

1. Remove the four rubber feet from the bottom of the P-AVN chassis. They are held on with adhesive and should pull off cleanly by hand or with a tool such as needle-nose-pliers.

1. Align the P-AVN so the attachment points are visible through the holes in the shelf

1. Using the included hardware screws, secure the transceiver in place by installing the two screws through the shelf and into the attachment points on the chassis.

1. Install 1RU shelf (with attached P-AVN-4 units) into standard equipment rack with four screws (not included as the size/type may differ between racks).
